The 2020 Lenten Season
THE LENTEN SEASON is such an important time in the lives of Christians everywhere. We prepare our hearts and minds to focus on Jesus Christ and the life He lived, the sacrifice He made for us, and the glory of the resurrection we celebrate on Easter Sunday. Mark your calendar to join us for these special events for Lent 2020.
Sunday, February 23 — LENTEN LUNCH following Worship. Everyone is welcome for lunch in the Dining Hall, where Pastor Ken will share the meaning of the Stations of the Cross as we think of the road to the cross where Jesus died for us. Each will receive a devotional book for the 40 Days of Lent called The Easter Code.
Ash Wednesday, February 26 — A TIME of PRAYER and PREPARATION. The Sanctuary will be open for Imposition of Ashes from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. King’s Kids Club and IGNITE. Youth Group will receive ashes at their evening meetings this day.
Throughout Lent, we will be conducting a Lenten Food Drive:
There will be collection carts in the church Lobby throughout Lent, February 23 through Good Friday, April 10, to receive donations of nonperishable food items for our Pantries.
