Our Pastor
Rev. Shannon V. Trenton was appointed to Church Hill beginning July 1, 2020 and brings a passion for ministries of justice and feeding the community, body and soul.
Pastor Shannon earned her M.Div. with a specialization in Biblical Greek from Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 2019. She is an Elder in Full Connection in the East Ohio Conference of the UMC.
Her dream for the universal church is that we will live out the Gospel so fully that every human being has the chance to reach their full potential.
When she is not serving the church, Pastor Shannon loves spending time with her fiancé, Jimmy, their four children, and three cats; visiting friends; traveling; and being outdoors under very particular conditions.
Our Staff
Jane Page
Worship Director
As Director of Music/Worship at Church Hill UMC, Jane Page directs the Chancel Choir,
co-ordinates the music ministry team, and collaborates with the Pastor to develop
weekly worship experiences.
A life long music educator and church musician, Jane earned a Bachelor of Music
Education degree from Mount Union College, a Master of Music degree from the Dana
School of Music at YSU, and has done graduate work through Cleveland State University
and the Ohio State University.
Jane considers herself blessed to have spent her entire teaching career at Lakeview
High School in Cortland where she developed and directed several choirs and
ensembles, as well as serving as Head of the Music Department. In 2005, Jane was
honored to receive the Ohio Music Educator of the Year award.
After retirement from public school education, Jane was invited to return to her college
alma mater to serve as conductor of the Mount Union Alliance Chorale. She has also
enjoyed being an adjudicator for the Ohio Music Education Association and is a
member of the American Choral Director’s Association. For many years, Jane
performed with the Wade Raridon Singers.
Jane and her husband, Bob, have been members of CHUM since childhood and love
this church. They enjoy camping, visiting the Smoky Mountains, and restoring old log
cabins.
Deanna Slifka
Youth Director
Deanna is a dedicated mentor, counselor, and coach. She currently leads the Ignite youth group on Wednesday evenings during the school year. She is also a coach for her children’s sports teams and runs a non-profit counseling service, Sophia’s Wings, from the church.
In her free time, Deanna loves spending time with her husband Joe and their children – including a lot of travel ball!
Terri West
Children’s Director
Miss Terri is our beloved longtime Children’s Director, overseeing KREW (Kids Radically Experiencing Worship) on Sundays through the school year and King’s Kids on Wednesday nights. She is wholeheartedly devoted to helping children come to know and love Jesus and the church.
In addition to regular lessons, Terri plans and directs various children’s performances through the year: in 2021-22, she directed both a Christmas program and a Palm Sunday program. She has also put on our annual Children’s Fair and Trunk or Treat events. In the summer, she runs our Vacation Bible School which is open to all children in the area.
